Post-rationalization is a mental projection by which we create an artificial purpose or precondition of an action. In many cases, the post-rationalization occurs at the time when someone asks for a the justification or purpose of our actions. We often believe the content of the post-rationalization to be true when in fact is often is quite far from reality.
